Using humor and abstraction, “A Pirate Named Ned” is an animated essay that challenges the accepted understanding of notoriously violent Golden Era pirate Edward "Ned" Low.
Director's BIO
“A Pirate Named Ned” is Steve Gentile’s fifth animated film. In addition to many showings in North America, Steve’s films have screened at a variety of venues in Spain, the U.K., Italy, Greece, Croatia, France, Portugal, Israel, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Steve is Associate Professor of Animation at Massachusetts College of Art & Design.
